Tell us about yourself

I graduated from Royal Holloway University of London in 2001 with a degree in History. I joined Atkins Hope in 2004 and whilst working here I studied part time at the College of Law. I completed a Graduate Diploma in Law with Commendation in 2005 and the Legal Practice Course with Distinction in 2007. I qualified as a solicitor in May 2008.

What’s your Expertise?

Throughout my legal training I knew that after I had qualified I wanted to specialise in Family Law and I therefore spent the majority of training contract gaining experience in this area. I now cover a variety of Family Law work including:

  • Children – Private and Care Proceedings
  • Child Abduction
  • Domestic Violence
  • Divorce and Ancillary Relief
  • Trust of Land Act Applications

What do you offer clients of Atkins Hope Solicitors?

I offer a professional, high level of service. Sensitivity and a personal approach are also very important in family work. I try to ensure that sure I offer a personable service so that clients feel comfortable and understood.

Flexibility is also one of the main benefits I like to offer. I am always willing to do whatever it takes to make things easier for my clients.

What else would you like to tell us about your role?

Although I only qualified as a solicitor in 2008, the fact that I worked in Family Law whilst completing my legal training means I have more experience than the average newly qualified lawyer.

I also had my first reported case four months after qualifying (Re S & O Temporary Removal from the Jurisdiction [2009] Fam Law 114). Hopefully all of this shows clients that I can offer a high level of advice through a solid knowledge of family law.

Could you give us a quote?

“Families experiencing problems need a sensitive approach on a personal yet professional level and they need total commitment from their lawyers so that the right results can be achieved with the least disruption to their lives.”

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

I completed my undergraduate degree in history and I still take a great interest in history, particularly early 20th Century history and politics. I also enjoy skiing, reading and cooking.

Do you have something intriguing to leave us with?

I love painting and have an ‘A’ Level in Fine Art!
