Tell us about yourself
I am a solicitor who qualified in 1994 and joined Atkins Hope in 2006. I hold a senior level position in the Atkins Hope Family Team.
What’s your Expertise?
I specialise in matrimonial financial cases and also represent clients in contact, residence and other matters concerning children.
What do you offer clients of Atkins Hope Solicitors?
With a background as a Housing Advisor in the Voluntary Sector and managerial roles within a local Citizen’s Advice Bureau branch, I’ve gained a valuable insight into the common issues faced by families. For clients, this means a better understanding of the nature of their difficulties and foresight into situations that may arise as a result.
I am committed to providing flexibility for clients and am happy to offer out of hours appointments by arrangement.
What else would you like to tell us about your role?
I always endeavour, where possible, to represent my clients at court. This offers continuity, rather than dividing a case between solicitor and barrister.
Specialist Panel and Association Membership show you have reached a notable level of expertise and experience in your specialist area of law. Do you belong to any of these?
I belong to Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers committed to dealing with family problems in a non-confrontational manner.
Could you give us a quote?
“I like to offer clients continuity, so I always try to represent them in court rather than allow a case to be divided between solicitor and barrister.”
Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
I set up my own law firm in London in 2003 and ran that for three years until I decided to move out of the capital, at which point I joined Atkins Hope.
Outside working hours, I volunteer at Croydon Law Centre as a legal adviser. I also diversify into Employment Law and handle a small selection of cases on behalf of employees and employers.
Do you have something intriguing to leave us with?
I studied English and American Literature at the University of Sussex.
