Jennifer Bond

Solicitor

Tell us about yourself

I am a family solicitor and I joined Atkins Hope in 2009 after three years working at another London firm.

What’s your Expertise?

I chose to pursue my foremost interest – Children Law – after having acquired solid experience and knowledge in this area during my legal training. I work on a range of private and public law children matters as well as domestic violence cases.

What do you offer clients of Atkins Hope Solicitors?

Clear communication, sensitivity, accessibility and willingness to listen to client’s needs. I want clients to feel that there is time to talk about their concerns and ask as many questions as they wish so that they fully understand the situation they are facing.

What else would you like to tell us about your role?

I try to conduct as much of my own advocacy for clients as possible. I am committed to being as flexible as possible for clients’ benefit, and will offer outside visits and out of hours appointments to make life easier for clients.

Specialist Panel and Association Membership show you have reached a notable level of expertise and experience in your specialist area of law. Do you belong to any of these?

I am an Affiliate of Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers committed to dealing with family problems in a non-confrontational manner. I am also an Associate of the Association of Lawyers for Children. I sit on the Committee of the Young Legal Aid Lawyers; an organisation committed to furthering access to justice.

Could you give us a quote?

“ One of the most important things for me is to listen to clients, and then to make sure that my advice is understood. I don’t want clients to go away thinking they haven’t asked all the right questions they had on their minds or without understanding what I’ve said.”

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

I have a firm belief in the importance of access to justice. As an active member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers I have been involved in organising various events including ‘Question Time 2009’ an event celebrating 60 years of Legal Aid. I volunteer at Merton Law Centre family clinic. Whilst at law college I received the annual award for ‘Pro Bono Student of the Year.’

Do you have something intriguing to leave us with?

Nothing particularly intriguing I’m afraid; outside work I enjoy walking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
