Tell us about yourself

I am a Solicitor Advocate with higher rights of audience in the civil courts. I qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and joined Atkins Hope in 2000.

What is your Expertise?

For 25 years I have concentrated on children’s law. I specialise in representing children and parents in care proceedings, adoption, child abduction and representing parents in disputes about arrangements for their children.

What do you offer clients of Atkins Hope Solicitors?

As a Solicitor Advocate, I represent clients in family proceedings. I do much of my own advocacy in the courts.

I have the ability and knowledge to deal efficiently with emergency situations requiring urgent action.

I am aware of issues faced by clients with disabilities and if appropriate will make outside visits to any such client. I am particularly aware of the issues which hearing impaired clients often encounter.

What else would you like to tell us about your role?

The nature of my work requires a high degree of expertise.

My extensive experience means I can advise simply on complex and intricate family legal problems. Clients and professionals can be confident in my ability to act, advise and conclude matters with efficiency.

Specialist Panel and Association Membership show you have reached a notable level of expertise and experience in your specialist area of law. Do you belong to any of these?

I have been a member of the Children Panel since 1988.

I am a member of Resolution and am a Resolution Accredited Specialist Family Lawyer with particular expertise in Private Children Law, Domestic Abuse and Child Abduction.

I belong to The Association of Lawyers for Children. I am a member of NAGALRO (National Association of Guardians ad litem and Reporting Officers), which is the professional association for Children's Guardians and Children and Family Reporters and Independent Social Workers.

Could you give us a quote?

“If you need a highly specialised, reliable solicitor, you need look no further.”

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

I have gained extensive experience in dealing with extremely complex cases sometimes involving medical, mental health and disability issues and some with international elements.

Do you have something intriguing to leave us with?

I was in the final shortlist of three for Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year 2005.
